Vee’s Story: Solace in BTS

To me, K-pop means BTS. They have been my safe haven. They have been helping me find myself and figure out things I didn’t know about myself before. Their music is like a balm for all the wounds that I have. Kim Namjoon, the leader of BTS, once said to love yourself and speak yourself and I have been learning both of those things. I had depression and anxiety and was battling low self-esteem caused by a parent who never had anything good to say about me for years. When I was about to give up on myself that’s when I found BTS.

Min Yoongi(SUGA) had similar struggles and he fought it and came out better than before. He helped me gather the courage to fight it and I am proud to say I am in a much better place today. I can actually say I love myself now. They taught me confidence, hard work and to let my inner child out sometimes. They also taught me that it’s okay to make mistakes sometimes which I always used to beat myself up for. They gave me a family I didn’t know I needed (ARMY). I hope we will keep on growing together forever. Borahae BTS.
