K-pop has been a huge thing in my life. I started listening to K-pop when I was 9 years old and my favourite group since then has always been Stray Kids. I’m part of multiple fandoms like MOA, Stay, and Army. I’m also a Carat and an Engene.
I love K-pop because it really inspires me and brings out the dance in me. Dancing and rapping have always been my thing ever since I was young. Every time I watch the survival shows of K-pop idols it inspires me because I realised when I was 12 years old that I wanted to become a K-pop idol. I have been practising K-pop and I’ve always wanted to get my body in shape. Whenever I see the harsh things that K-pop idols go through, I think that whenever I become a K-pop idol, they’re not gonna do the same to me.
When I’m done with school, I am planning on auditioning for JYP Entertainment. I’m actually going to audition for the big 4 companies but if JYP rejects me I’ll keep trying because JYP Entertainment is the only company I ever want to get into. I feel like that company stands out to me a lot and it’s the company I’d like to be in. It’s like something is calling me and attracting me towards JYP. JYP Entertainment is the next step in my life basically.
When I finish matric, I don’t want to go to university. I want to become a K-pop idol and my mind is settled on that.
K-pop has helped me overcome depression. Every time I feel sad, I listen to a K-pop song. Sometimes I listen to Maniac by Stray Kids and even though it makes me feel crazy, it still helps.
K-pop has been a huge deal in my life and I can’t thank the Lord more for bringing these amazingly and beautiful idols into my life. I will always be grateful to JYP for valuing Stray Kids’ talent and I’ll forever be grateful to Hyunjin’s mum for giving me such a beautiful idol.
